Dhamrai, Mar 13 (V7N) – Yasin Ferdous Murad, President of the Dhaka District Jubo Dal, has expressed deep concern over the growing number of rape and violence cases against women across Bangladesh. He emphasized the urgent need for exemplary punishment to curb such crimes.
Murad made these remarks while speaking as a guest at an Iftar Mahfil organized by the local BNP and its affiliated organizations at the Elokeshi High School ground in Nannar Union, Dhamrai, on Thursday.
He further alleged that Awami League allies were attempting to destabilize the country in a bid to undermine the interim government. "The interim government cannot be allowed to fail. We must cooperate with the government to ensure a free and fair election," he stated.
Calling for quick and fair elections to counter political conspiracies, Murad claimed that over the past seven months, no state institution has remained stable, and law and order have deteriorated drastically. "Rape has become an epidemic," he added, urging immediate measures to restore safety and security.
Murad also reiterated BNP’s commitment to restoring full democracy in Bangladesh. "Only a people's government can free the country from tyranny by prosecuting the dictator Hasina and her associates," he declared.
The meeting was presided over by local BNP leader Md. Shamsuddin Molla. Among those present were Ebadul Haque Zahid, Monirul Islam, Khalilur Rahman, Szahan Molla, Mizanur Rahman, and Mohammad Nasir.
