London, Apr 3 (V7N) – BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has begun a comprehensive health check-up at The London Clinic, where she is undergoing treatment under the supervision of specialist doctors.

Her personal physician, Professor AZM Zahid Hossain, who is currently in London, confirmed the update to the media on Wednesday (April 3).

Dr. Zahid stated that Khaleda Zia’s full medical evaluation started on Wednesday and will continue for the next four days. “Today, tomorrow, and the following days, she will undergo various tests. Her doctors from The London Clinic will visit her at home for check-ups,” he said.

He further mentioned that some tests might require her to be taken to the clinic in London. “The doctors have recommended several tests, which will be conducted over the next few days as per medical advice,” he added.

Regarding her return to Bangladesh, Dr. Zahid clarified that it depends on the test results and doctors’ assessment. “The medical team here will review her reports and determine when she will be fit for discharge,” he explained.

Currently, the former Prime Minister is being treated at her son Tarique Rahman’s residence in Devonshire Place, London. Her medical care is being led by Professor Patrick Kennedy and Professor Jennifer Cross, both specialists from The London Clinic.

Khaleda Zia traveled to London on January 8 for advanced treatment. While she was initially scheduled to return in mid-April, her return date remains uncertain and will depend on her health condition and doctors’ recommendations.
