Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan remarked on Thursday that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has become increasingly isolated from the people.

Speaking to reporters before attending a community policing and anti-drug rally at Kurigram Government College ground, the minister criticized BNP's leadership for directing actions from abroad without considering the welfare of their supporters.

He highlighted BNP's history, mentioning the violence and destruction following the 2008 and 2014 elections, emphasizing their decline in parliamentary seats over the years.

Addressing concerns about foreign involvement in elections, the home minister downplayed external commentary, asserting that Bangladesh's democracy is robust, with a high voter turnout compared to some developed countries. He affirmed the government's commitment to upholding democratic principles and advancing the nation.

Among those present at the event were Kurigram-2 MP Hamidul Haque Khandaker, Soumendra Prasad Pandey of Kurigram-3, and Biplab Hasan Palash of Kurigram-4.
