Lalmonirhat, Apr 19 (V7N)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that the people of Bangladesh will not accept any election unless there is a visible trial of murderers and essential reforms are implemented beforehand.

He made the statement while addressing a public meeting organized by Lalmonirhat District Jamaat on Saturday morning—marking the first such gathering in the district in the presence of the party chief.

In his speech, Dr. Rahman also demanded the swift implementation of the Teesta Master Plan, emphasizing that the people of the region have long awaited this development project.

“Though the fascists may have fallen, fascism itself still exists in this country,” he said. “There must be a united resistance against extortionists and occupiers.”

The Jamaat Ameer asserted that people no longer want to see dominance and hegemony in politics and governance. He pledged that if his party comes to power, it will ensure maximum security for women and religious minorities.

Additionally, he called for the immediate release of Jamaat leader ATM Azhar, who is currently incarcerated.
