In Chattogram-4, covering Sitakunda and parts of Akbar Shah-Pahartali, Mohammad Aslam Chowdhury has been finalized as the candidate, replacing the initially nominated Kazi Salauddin. Aslam Chowdhury met with local party leaders at his Sitakunda residence on Saturday morning and acknowledged the party’s trust in his nomination.
In Chattogram-10, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, who was initially nominated, has been shifted to contest Chattogram-11, which had been left vacant in the preliminary list. Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Pat Shromik Dal President Syed Al Noman, son of the late BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman, has been finalized as the new candidate for Chattogram-10.
BNP has also replaced candidates in four of the six constituencies in Jashore. In Jashore-1 (Sharsha), Nuruzzaman Liton, General Secretary of Sharsha Upazila BNP, has replaced the party’s former Central Committee Office Secretary Mofiqul Hasan Tripti. In Jashore-4 (Bagharpara, Abhaynagar Upazila, and Basundia Union), Motiar Rahman Farazi, President of the Abhaynagar Upazila Committee, replaces central leader Engineer T.S. Ayub.
In Jashore-5 (Monirampur), the initial nominee, Upazila Committee President Adv. In Jashore-6 (Keshabpur), Abul Hossain Azad, Central Committee member and Upazila Committee President, replaces former student leader and central member Kazi Rawnakul Islam Shraban.
In Pirojpur-1 (Nazirpur, Pirojpur Sadar, and Zianagar), BNP Central Executive Committee member and former District BNP convener Principal Alamgir Hossain has been finalized as the candidate. Previously, the nomination had been given to Mustafa Jamal Haidar, Chairman of the BNP alliance partner National Party (Kazi Zafar) and former minister. Local BNP leaders expressed dissatisfaction over the change; however, the nomination was altered due to Mustafa Jamal Haidar’s seniority and health concerns.
The revised nominations reflect BNP’s strategic adjustments to accommodate alliance partners and ensure competitive candidates across key constituencies ahead of the upcoming elections.
