Dhaka, Dec 28 (V7N) — Activists of Inqilab Manch have staged a series of road blockades in Dhaka and other divisional cities, demanding the immediate arrest and trial of the main accused in the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.

In Dhaka, the protest began at Shahbagh intersection after 2:00 pm on Sunday, with leaders and activists sitting in the middle of the road and chanting slogans. Abdullah Al Jaber, member secretary of Inqilab Manch, warned that a larger-scale movement would be launched if the main accused were not arrested promptly.

Earlier on Sunday, Additional Police Commissioner SN Md. Nazrul Islam informed at the DMP media center that the primary suspects, Faisal and Alamgir, had fled to India via the Haluaghat border in Mymensingh. Authorities are working to bring them back, while two individuals who helped the suspects escape have already been arrested in Meghalaya, India.

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury also assured that the government is committed to delivering justice in the case and that the investigation report would be submitted within the next 10 days.

In addition to Dhaka, Inqilab Manch activists have blocked highways and roads in several divisional cities. In Rajshahi, activists staged a sit-in in front of the main gate of Rajshahi University around 2:30 pm, later moving to the Rajshahi-Natore highway, where they burned tires and halted traffic.

In Sylhet, protesters blocked the road at Chowhatta Point, while in Mymensingh, activists gathered at the Town Hall intersection, alleging that administrative statements were attempts to delay justice. They demanded the resignation of the Home Affairs Advisor and the Legal Advisor, claiming the criminals could have been apprehended immediately after the shooting incident.

The protests are continuing across the country, with activists vowing to maintain the movement until justice is ensured for all those involved in the murder of Sharif Osman Hadi.
