Thakurgaon, Jan 23 (V7N) — Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said the party will build the country with the participation of all citizens if it comes to power, but under three key conditions: a strong anti-corruption stance, an independent judiciary, and support for state reforms. He emphasized that in this case, it will not be any single party, but the representatives of the people who will shape the future of Bangladesh.

Dr. Shafiqur Rahman made the remarks during a public meeting in Thakurgaon on Friday as part of the ongoing election campaign.

He criticized the misrule and corruption that, he said, have held back the development of the northern region. “The thieves have made the people of the north poor. Without corruption, this region could have become the capital of agro-based industries,” he said. He added that under a government guided by justice, farmers would receive fair prices for their produce.

The Jamaat Ameer also promised to establish a quality medical college in every district and to provide employment for youth instead of mere allowances, stating, “We will turn every house into an industry. We will not give unemployment allowance, but ensure actual employment for the unemployed.”

As part of his campaign schedule, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman held rallies in Panchagarh and Dinajpur earlier on Friday. On Saturday, he is scheduled to visit the grave of Abu Sayeed in Rangpur before holding rallies in Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj, and Pabna. On Sunday (January 25), he will campaign in Dhaka-5, 6, and 7 constituencies.
