Savar, February 6 (V7N)- National Citizens Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam said that after August 5, the people of Bangladesh no longer want to see any new oppressors in the country. He warned that if money launderers and loan defaulters enter parliament, looting and misrule will once again take hold.
He made the remarks while addressing a public meeting in Savar on Friday morning in support of 11‑party alliance candidate Dilshana Parul.
Nahid Islam said that the power of Islam and youth has united, paving the way for a united Bangladesh. According to him, people have now come together with the goal of establishing a corruption‑free and justice‑based state.
He further stated that if the 11‑party alliance forms the government, Bangladesh will be freed from hegemony and governed on the basis of justice. “Those who want to make Bangladesh subservient to Delhi again will have no place in this country. Bangladesh will be governed from Dhaka,” he said.
Criticizing BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Nahid Islam said, “He came to the country and said, ‘I have a plan.’ But he does not even know where the EPZ is, where the commercial capital is, or where soybeans are cultivated. How will he run the country?”
The NCP convener also alleged that leaders and activists of the 11‑party alliance are being attacked across the country. “They want to come to power by standing on dead bodies,” he said, adding that such forces must be defeated in the February 12 election.
