Satkhira, Feb 11 (V7N) — Election materials, including ballot papers, are being delivered to 609 polling stations in Satkhira ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election and Referendum.

Presiding officers of the respective polling stations began receiving 20 types of election materials, including ballot papers, from the offices of the Upazila Returning Officers from 10:00 am on Wednesday.

Satkhira Sadar Upazila Assistant Returning Officer Arnab Dutta said that ballot papers for both the parliamentary election and the referendum are being distributed under strict security measures.

He stated that police, village police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Ansar, and other law enforcement personnel will be deployed at every polling center. No responsible official will be allowed to leave the center until the overall voting process is completed. Additionally, no one will be permitted to accept food on behalf of any candidate at the center. Arrangements have been made for polling officials to take meals through village police.

For security, magistrates, 600 members of the Bangladesh Army, and more than 2,000 police personnel have been deployed in the Satkhira election field. Furthermore, 35 platoons of BGB, along with Ansar, village police, and other law enforcement agencies, are stationed across three districts, including Satkhira.

No untoward incidents have been reported anywhere in the district so far.
