Comilla, Feb 11 (V7N) — A police complaint has been lodged against former BNP MP Manjurul Ahsan Munshi and truck symbol candidate Jasim Uddin for allegedly threatening and intimidating voters in the Comilla-4 (Debidwar) constituency.

The complaint was filed on Tuesday night by Raisul Islam Akhand, a local resident. Officer-in-Charge of Debidwar Police Station, Mohammad Moniruzzaman, confirmed the matter.

According to sources, on the night of February 9, Manjurul Ahsan Munshi delivered a speech at Baksar Bazar, Debidwar Upazila, in which he allegedly warned voters that their houses would be burned if they did not vote for the party candidate. A video of the statement went viral on social media, prompting the BNP to expel Munshi from all party posts.

It is noteworthy that Munshi’s nomination for the Comilla-4 seat had previously been canceled due to loan default.
