Bhola, Feb 12 (V7N) — BJP Chairman Barrister Andalib Rahman Partha has won the Bhola-1 (Sadar) constituency in the 13th National Parliament Election by a significant margin, defeating the Jamaat-e-Islami candidate.
Contesting as a candidate of the BNP-led alliance, Partha secured 104,462 votes under the ‘Cow Cart’ symbol, according to preliminary results announced by the Assistant Returning Officer’s office.
His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami Principal Nazrul Islam, received 73,773 votes, while Maulana Obaidur Rahman of the Islamic Movement obtained 15,091 votes.
With this victory, Andalib Rahman Partha has been elected as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the second time from this constituency. He was previously elected from the same seat in 2008.
The results were confirmed based on the information released by the Assistant Returning Officer’s office.
