Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — Shafiqur Rahman, Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, has won the Dhaka-15 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election, defeating his nearest rival by a margin of 20,725 votes.

According to the analysis of results from 127 polling centers, the Jamaat chief, contesting with the scale symbol, secured 82,645 votes. His closest rival, Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), who contested with the paddy sheaf symbol, received 61,920 votes.

The total number of voters in the Dhaka-15 constituency is 340,480, including 175,142 male voters and 165,338 female voters.
