Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has expressed dissatisfaction over the process of announcing the results of the 13th National Parliament Election.
The reaction came through a post on the party’s verified Facebook page at around 8:30 am on Friday (February 13).
In the statement, the party thanked voters for participating in large numbers in what it described as a generally peaceful atmosphere throughout the polling day. However, it said it was not satisfied with the results declaration process.
Raising several concerns, Jamaat questioned what it described as the narrow and “suspicious” defeats of candidates from the 11-party alliance in multiple constituencies, repeated inconsistencies and discrepancies in unofficial results, the Election Commission’s reluctance to disclose voter turnout data, and alleged indications of administrative bias toward a major party. According to the party, these issues have raised questions about the transparency of the results process.
The alliance also called on its leaders and activists to wait for further formal programs. In the statement, the party said its struggle for justice would continue with the goal of building a humane Bangladesh.
