Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has extended his congratulations to Tarique Rahman for leading the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) to a landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary elections in Bangladesh.
Sharif conveyed his message via a post on social media X on Friday (February 13) morning. He wrote, “I also congratulate the people of Bangladesh for organizing the successful elections. I look forward to further strengthening our historic, brotherly, multifaceted bilateral relations.”
He further expressed his eagerness to collaborate with the incoming government, stating, “I look forward to working closely with the new leadership of Bangladesh to advance our shared goals of peace, stability and development in South Asia and beyond.”
The 13th parliamentary elections and referendum were held across Bangladesh on Thursday (February 12), resulting in a majority win for the BNP, which is set to form the next government.
