Dhaka, Feb 13 (V7N) — Mahdi Amin, advisor to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, said, “This victory is for democracy, this victory is for Bangladesh,” while speaking to reporters in Gulshan on Friday afternoon.

He added that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will form an accountable government in line with the expectations of the people. According to him, the country will become a realization of the aspirations of the mothers of all martyrs.

Earlier on Friday, the Election Commission (EC) announced the official results of 297 seats in the 13th National Parliament election. Out of these, the BNP alliance won 212 seats, the 11-party electoral alliance led by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami secured 77 seats, and independents and others won 8 seats.
