Comilla, Feb 13 (V7N) — Hasnat Abdullah, winner of the National Citizens Party (NCP) for Comilla-4 constituency, emphasized that his election victory is not a personal achievement but an institutional responsibility. He spoke in an interview with Jamuna Television on Friday.

"This is not our victory, our responsibility has increased. Our responsibility has become institutionalized," Abdullah said. He added that the people have entrusted the party with responsibility toward politics, institutions, and the July martyrs. He stressed that fulfilling this trust through action will define true success.

Abdullah outlined key priorities for his term:

  • Institutional reforms in politics and bureaucracy.

  • Media and judicial reforms.

  • Ensuring fair support for families of July martyrs and injured.

  • Constitutional reforms.

He also pledged to focus on local development in Comilla-4, including infrastructure, education, health, employment, and controlling drugs and terrorism.

Abdullah highlighted the role of the new parliament in ensuring justice, saying, "If any anti-people decision is taken in this parliament, there will be opposition to it." He expressed optimism that this parliament will ensure true representation and participatory governance, in contrast to past parliaments where he felt citizens’ voices were underrepresented.
