Dhaka, Feb 14 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), which secured an absolute majority in the recently concluded 13th National Parliament election, is set to hold a post-election press conference.

According to the BNP media cell, the press conference will take place at 3:00 pm on Saturday (February 14) at the ballroom of the InterContinental Hotel in the capital.

For the first time since the election results, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will face the media to give the party’s official reaction and outline its next steps.

The 13th National Parliament election was held on Thursday, where BNP won 209 seats, comfortably crossing the required 151-seat threshold needed to form a single-party government in the 300-member parliament.

With more than two-thirds of the seats secured by the BNP and its alliance partners, the party is now on course to form the next government. Following the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected Members of Parliament in the coming days, the BNP leadership is expected to initiate the process of forming the cabinet and assuming official responsibilities.
