Zainul Abedin Farroque, a member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson's Advisory Council, said on Tuesday (April-30) that the ruling Awami League had endangered its survival by regularly conducting unfair elections.
In addition, he called on the ruling party to support the populace as they struggle to deal with the intense heat brought on by the ongoing heatwave.

"Obaidul Quader used to claim that the BNP is experiencing an existential crisis. Though Awami League is up against it, it's not BNP. They have caused this issue by conducting biassed surveys around the nation on a regular basis, according to Farroque.

He said the Awami League lacks the guts to host a free, fair, and legitimate election in which the main political parties would participate, thus the party has been flying under the radar by manipulating votes in independent surveys. Thus, it will be impossible for them to maintain their existence.

Amidst the prevailing extreme heatwave organised by Ziaur Rahman Samaj Kalyan Forum, the BNP leader made these comments while giving out bottled water and saline to passersby in front of the Jatiya Press Club.

As people are suffering greatly from the extreme heat, Farroque said that Obaidul Quader is just discussing remaining at home for the upazila election.

Instead than just talking about polls, give water to people in the middle of a severe heatwave to help them survive. Your repeated unilateral elections will not be accepted by the public, he said.
The administration will eventually have to answer to the people, regardless of how many ploys it uses, according to Farroque, a former top whip for the opposition in parliament.

He disagreed with keeping schools open during the current, intense heat wave as well. "It's imperative to take action against keeping schools open during such severe heatwave."

He urged the administration to resign in order to protect the impoverished people from misrule, claiming that it had failed to perform on all fronts.
The head of the BNP said that the incompetence, corruption, and looting of the current administration are causing the people of the country to suffer through severe problems.
