SIRAJGANJ, July 5, (v7n) – A total of 3,200 small and marginal farmers in Tarash upazila have received free agricultural incentives, including seeds and fertilizers, to boost production of transplanted Aman paddy and vegetables.
The distribution programme was inaugurated this morning at the Upazila Parishad auditorium by BP Ainul Haque, lawmaker for the Sirajganj-3 constituency, who attended as chief guest. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nusrat Jahan presided over the event, which was organized by the Upazila Agriculture Extension Department.
Speakers included Upazila Agriculture Officer Sharmistha Sen Gupta, former Upazila BNP president SM Afsar Ali, and its general secretary Aminur Rahman Tutul. Additional Agriculture Extension Officer Hazrat Ali moderated the programme.
MP Ainul Haque urged farmers to make proper use of the government-provided incentives, noting that the administration has launched multiple initiatives to boost agricultural output and ensure sustained growth in the sector.
According to the Upazila Agriculture Office, 2,600 farmers each received 10 kg of transplanted Aman paddy seeds, 10 kg of MOP fertilizer, and 10 kg of DAP fertilizer for the current season. Additionally, 600 farmers were provided with vegetable seeds and fertilizers under the programme.
