Dhaka, Jan 16 (V7N) — A formal complaint has been lodged with the International Crimes Tribunal accusing former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former military advisor Tariq Ahmed Siddiqui, and 41 others of crimes against humanity related to the killing of Dr. Faiz Ahmed, the Naib-e-Ameer of Lakshmipur district Jamaat.

Dr. Faiz Ahmed's son, Dr. Hasanul Banna, filed the complaint on Thursday with the Chief Prosecutor's Office. Among the accused are former Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir, ex-RAB Additional Director General Ziaul Ahsan, and former RAB-11 Commander Tarek Sayeed Mohammad.

The complaint alleges that on December 13, 2013, Dr. Faiz Ahmed was shot dead at his home in Lakshmipur's North Temuhani area by members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). It further claims that his body was thrown from the roof of the house after the murder, which occurred late at night.

Tarek Sayeed Mohammad, already known for his involvement in the infamous Narayanganj seven-murder case, is accused of orchestrating this killing as well.

Dr. Hasanul Banna expressed hope for a fair trial, stating, “We believe the tribunal will ensure justice for the inhumane killing of my father.”

The filing of this complaint marks a significant step in seeking accountability for alleged human rights violations. The tribunal is expected to assess the charges and decide on the next course of action.
