Finance Minister Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali expressed confidence in the country's economy, highlighting positive trends in major macroeconomic indicators and indices. Speaking to reporters after a session at the Ministry of Finance during the ongoing DC Conference, Ali emphasized that there is no cause for concern or disappointment regarding the economy.

Ali noted the upward trend in inward remittance flow in February and highlighted the overall increase in major macroeconomic indicators. He dismissed propaganda aimed at spreading uncertainty about the economy, attributing it to a vested quarter. Responding to remarks by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Ali reiterated that Bangladesh is experiencing significant development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Highlighting the country's progress, Ali mentioned the implementation of plans such as the Delta Plan 2100 and emphasized the visible development across roads and cities. He cited the metro rail project as an example of improved public infrastructure, noting the positive impact on citizens' lives.

Regarding concerns about inflation, Ali pointed out the government's initiatives, including providing family cards for subsidized essential commodities. He also emphasized the role of deputy commissioners in supporting efforts to generate more revenue, including income tax.

State Minister for Finance Waseqa Ayesha Khan echoed the importance of implementing the Awami League's election manifesto priorities. She highlighted the government's commitment to austerity measures and strict oversight in implementing development schemes.

State Minister for Planning M Shahiduzzaman Sarker emphasized the role of deputy commissioners in supporting beneficial development projects at the local level. While acknowledging that project implementation falls under the jurisdiction of ministries and divisions, Sarker highlighted the importance of deputy commissioners in identifying area-specific projects for the benefit of the people.
