Kishoreganj, May 19 (V7N) – The 198th Eid-ul-Azha congregation, the largest in Bangladesh, will be held at the historic Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in Kishoreganj. The congregation is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am on Eid day.
The decision was finalized at a preparatory meeting held on Monday (May 19) at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, chaired by Fouzia Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj and President of the Sholakia Eidgah Management Committee.
This year’s Eid-ul-Azha prayer will be led by Mufti Abul Khair Mohammad Saifullah, the Imam of Sholakia Eidgah. Authorities have arranged a four-tier security system to ensure the safety of worshippers. The Bangladesh Army, police, RAB, BGB, and intelligence agencies will coordinate the security efforts.
As part of the security and logistical preparations:

Two special trains, named Sholakia Express, will operate to facilitate worshippers' travel.

A bomb disposal unit will be stationed at the Eidgah.

The construction of private arches and greeting gates has been banned to maintain safety and order.

As per tradition, six blank shots from a shotgun will signal the timing of the congregation:

Three shots will be fired five minutes before the prayer.

Two shots will follow three minutes before.

One final shot will be fired one minute before the prayer begins.
