London, UK, June 13 (V7N) – Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, Professor Muhammad Yunus, was awarded the prestigious King Charles III Harmony Award on Thursday at St James's Palace in London. King Charles III personally conferred the award on Prof. Yunus during the ceremony, as confirmed by the Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary, Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.The award recognizes Professor Yunus's "unique contribution to ensuring harmonious coexistence between people, nature and the environment, bringing about positive changes in the lives of the marginalised communities and building a peaceful, harmonious and sustainable world."Expressing his gratitude, the Chief Adviser remarked, "It is a wonderful prize," and thanked His Majesty for his support to Bangladesh "during this pivotal period in the country's history."

"This is a recognition of the work we have done to uplift vulnerable communities and reflect the values His Majesty The King also champions," Prof. Yunus stated while accepting the award. He further added that the award serves as "a fantastic way to project what we stand for" and expressed hope that it would inspire young people in Bangladesh "to create a country they dream about."Prior to the award ceremony, King Charles III welcomed the Chief Adviser for a private audience at Buckingham Palace. During their half-hour-long one-on-one meeting, they discussed various issues of mutual interest.The King Charles III Harmony Award, launched by King Charles in June 2024, celebrates individuals committed to living in harmony with nature. The inaugural winner of the award was former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. This special accolade is bestowed upon an individual to recognize long-term outstanding commitment to, and support for, The King’s Harmony philosophy, which champions sustainability and nature across all sectors.

According to The King's Foundation, Professor Yunus has dedicated his life to promoting social business principles and encouraging sustainable, socially responsible projects, significantly impacting poverty alleviation in Bangladesh and globally. The King's Foundation, a UK-based charity established in 1990 by then Prince of Wales, annually presents this esteemed award to individuals demonstrating exemplary achievements in sustainable development and humanitarian causes.
