Pabna, June 09 (V7N) – The Hifzul Quran competition in Chatmohar, Pabna, culminated in a vibrant prize distribution and Islamic cultural program held on Sunday (June 8) night at the premises of Chatmohar Shahi Mosque.

Organized by Chatmohar Sports Academy, the event's highlight was a performance by renowned Islamic ghazal artist Obaidullah Tarek, who mesmerized the audience with several Islamic songs.

Distinguished guests present at the program included Hasanul Islam Hira, former member secretary of Chatmohar Upazila BNP and former upazila chairman; Dr. Asif; Rakibur Rahman Tukun, Editor of Daily Chalanbil; Principal Abdur Rahim Kalu, former organizing secretary of Chatmohar Upazila BNP; Mufti Mofiz Uddin of Mathurapur Manjur Rahman Orphanage Hafizia Madrasa; Touhidul Islam Taijul, convener of Chatmohar Sports Academy and municipal BNP general secretary; and Kazi Abdus Salam, Pesh Imam of Shahi Mosque. Touhidul Islam Taijul, convener of Chatmohar Sports Academy, articulated the event's objective: "We wanted to highlight the birds of the Quran from remote rural areas. I think they are largely neglected. They do not get the opportunity to compete on such a large scale. We want them to reach the national level from Chatmohar and win international awards from there."

Hasanul Islam Hira, former member secretary of Chatmohar Upazila BNP, shared future aspirations, stating, "We have organized this event in four upazilas. We plan to organize it in the entire Pabna district in the future. We hope that the best Quran reciters of the future will emerge from here."

Obaidullah Tarek, the acclaimed Islamic music artist, expressed his profound impression: "I have been a judge of many such competitions for almost a decade. I was accompanied by many national and international renowned reciters. But today, I am overwhelmed with emotion when I come here and see such a national standard program being organized in a remote area in Chatmohar Upazila. I wish the success of this event and thank the organizers. May Allah reward them well."

The competition, which commenced on February 9, initially involved qualifying rounds across four upazilas: Chatmohar, Bhangura, Faridpur, and Atgharia. Approximately three hundred competitors participated in three categories (5 Para, 10 Para, and 30 Para). The grand finale, featuring 35 finalists from these three groups, was held on February 26 at the Chatmohar Upazila Parishad auditorium.
