Tangail, June 22 (V7N) — Additional Inspector General of Police Abu Naser Mohammad Khaled has said that recent student movements against discrimination have exposed mistakes within the police force, acknowledging that the institution must correct those errors. He emphasized that the upcoming national election will serve as an opportunity to erase the stigma associated with the police.
He made these remarks while addressing the closing parade of the 55th Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC) batch at the Mahera Police Training Center parade ground in Tangail on Sunday (June 22).
Referring to the internal crisis following August 5, when police members went on strike for several days, the Additional IGP noted that after the change in leadership, various reforms and new initiatives have been undertaken within the force.
Addressing the newly recruited police members, he said, “The misconceptions that people have about the police must be dispelled through your good conduct and professionalism. The police force is now more modern, skilled, and dedicated than ever before.”
Among others present at the event were Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ashraful Alam, Commandant of Mahera Police Training Center, Deputy Commandant AHM Kamruzzaman BPM, Tangail Superintendent of Police Md. Mizanur Rahman, and senior officials of the training center.
A total of 817 police members participated in the colorful closing parade of the 55th TRC batch.
