Retaining the parliamentary seat, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza became victorious from the Narail-2 constituency, riding the Awami League ticket.

After Sunday's (Jan 7) polling, he received 189,102 votes from 147 centers, while Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, his closest competitor, received 4,041 votes, according to preliminary figures.
Mohammad Nur Islam, the third contender, received 1,363 votes.

Mashrafe, who has led Bangladesh in cricket, expressed gratitude to Facebook users.
