Dhaka, Aug 27 (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) has approved the draft roadmap for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. The approval came on Wednesday, and officials indicated the roadmap may be published on Thursday (August 28).

Meanwhile, the EC has also announced that it will begin National Identity Card (NID) services in three major U.S. cities – New York, Miami, and Los Angeles – to facilitate expatriate Bangladeshis ahead of the elections.

As part of its preparations, the EC has completed the hearing of claims and objections regarding the re-demarcation of parliamentary constituencies. The hearings took place at the Election Building auditorium with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin, Election Commissioners, EC Secretary, and claimants in attendance.

In total, the EC reviewed 262 claims and objections from 18 constituencies across five regions. The final day of hearings covered constituencies from Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Faridpur regions.

The Commission is expected to finalize its decisions on boundary adjustments soon, paving the way for the election roadmap’s official rollout.
