Dhaka, Aug 28 (V7N) – The Election Commission (EC) has finalized the roadmap for the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections, with the official announcement expected at noon on Thursday (August 28). Key milestones include the publication of the constituency boundary gazette on September 15 and the geographical map (GIS) on September 30.
According to EC Secretariat sources, the deadline for initial registration of new political parties has been fixed for September 14, while the final notification will be issued on September 30.
The Commission will also verify and translate the Representation of the People Order (RPO) into Bangla and forward it to the Law Ministry for vetting by August 31.
As part of its election roadmap, the EC has decided to finalize the updated voter list by November 30. For the first time, prisoners will also be allowed to vote, with ballots reaching prisons two weeks before election day.
Additionally, the EC will launch a series of dialogues with civil society, the media, and other stakeholders at the end of September to build consensus and ensure transparency in the electoral process.
