On the eve of the 12th national election, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will meet with both foreign and domestic poll monitors at the Ganabhaban on Monday, January 8.

On Sunday, January 7, the press branch of the Prime Minister's Office declared that the meeting will happen on Monday at 3:30 p.m.

At the Dhaka City College early in the morning, Prime Minister Hasina cast her ballot and encouraged everyone to support her party. She snapped back, "I'm always confident because I know the people are always with me," in response to a question about her level of confidence. Hopefully, we will prevail.

Hasina claimed that establishing the people's right to vote was a difficult task. "I was able to get them back the ability to vote. They are able to use their franchise at will. There will be a free and fair election. Whom I choose will receive my vote. Voters are free to select anybody they wish, but we want a fair outcome to the election," the speaker stated.

She cited the BNP's vile history of violence and claimed that people responsible for the horrible events had no faith in democracy. "Neither the people's well-being nor the survival of democracy are important to them. We want to complete the remaining tasks that lie ahead of us," she remarked.
