Dhaka, Oct 26 (V7N) — The National Consensus Commission has held a meeting with the families of the July martyrs at the LD Hall of the National Parliament on Sunday.

During the meeting, family members of the martyrs expressed frustration that the ideals and objectives for which their children sacrificed their lives have not yet been fulfilled. They said that instead of recognition, they continue to face humiliation and deprivation in various sectors.

They alleged that despite repeated efforts to raise their concerns, invisible obstacles prevent them from being heard. The families also stressed the need to give legal status to the July National Charter and called for stronger security and protection measures for themselves. All family representatives present agreed on these demands.

The Commission members acknowledged that they were aware of the July Foundation’s efforts but were unaware of the extent of deprivation faced by the families. The Commission assured that the issues raised would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities for necessary action.

When the families expressed their wish to meet the Chief Advisor, the Commission promised full cooperation to facilitate the meeting.

A 10-member delegation of the July martyrs’ families attended the meeting, including Shahidul Islam Bhuiyan (father of martyr Farhan Fayyaz), Mir Mostafizur Rahman (father of martyr Mughd), Md. Mohiuddin (father of martyr Yamin), Kabir Hossain (father of martyr Jabir Ibrahim), Mohammad Abdul Matin (father of martyr Shahriar), Md. Golam Razzak (father of martyr Rian), Md. Gaus Ullah (brother of martyr Abdullah), Saif Ahmed Khan (son of martyr Abdul Hannan), Md. Obaidul Haque, and Syed Gaziur Rahman (father of martyr Montasir).
