On the sixth day of advance ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr, Bangladesh Railway experienced an unprecedented surge in website traffic, with an average of 500 hits for each railway ticket.

Tickets for April 8 were made available on Friday ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, resulting in the sale of 56,013 out of 162,643 seats of intercity trains nationwide within a span of 10 hours from 8 am to 6 pm. Moreover, 30,270 out of 32,586 seats for Eid journeys from Dhaka were sold during this period.

The railway ticket sales subsidiary, Shohoz-Synesis-Vincen JV, confirmed these figures, highlighting that ticket aspirants accessed the website approximately 12.8 million times within half an hour of the western zone ticket sale commencement at 8 am. Similarly, around 9.6 million hits were recorded within the first half-hour of eastern zone ticket sales at 2 pm.

In total, the website received over 22.4 million hits within just half an hour of the sixth day of ticket sales, marking the highest traffic observed in previous days and averaging more than 500 hits per ticket.
