Dhaka, May 07 (V7N) — The Executive Director of Transparency International Bangladesh, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman, met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday (May 7) at the Secretariat.
Following the meeting, Dr. Iftekharuzzaman said that TIB presented several recommendations aimed at strengthening good governance and implementing anti-corruption commitments in the country.
He stated that the Prime Minister responded positively to the proposals and assured that the government would take necessary steps to implement feasible recommendations.
Dr. Iftekharuzzaman also said that TIB requested government cooperation in hosting the proposed “International Anti-Corruption Conference” in Bangladesh in 2028. He added that the Prime Minister has assured that the matter will be reviewed and a decision will be taken after further discussion.
TIB expressed hope that the government’s commitment to combating corruption would be further reflected through such international engagement and policy implementation.
