Dhaka, Jul 06 (V7N) — Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon has said that the government plans to deliver textbooks to students during their final examinations in December, following instructions from the Prime Minister to complete the printing of all textbooks by November 30.

The minister made the remarks on Monday after a meeting with the Prime Minister at the Bangladesh Secretariat to review the progress of the national textbook publishing programme.

He said the meeting focused on ensuring that students receive their textbooks at the beginning of the new academic year without delay.

According to the minister, the government has already taken necessary preparations to address potential challenges related to printing capacity. The tender process is currently underway, and printing orders are expected to be awarded in early August to allow production to begin as quickly as possible.

Dr. Milon also said that several revisions are being made to the national curriculum, with four new textbooks set to be introduced across different grade levels.

Referring to language education, the minister acknowledged that recruiting qualified teachers remains a major challenge. He said the recruitment process has not yet begun but is expected to start next year.

The government expects that completing textbook printing within the November deadline will help ensure timely distribution to students ahead of the 2027 academic session.
