Dhaka, Aug 13 (V7N)- A delegation of the US-Bangladesh Business Council met with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to discuss Bangladesh-US trade relations and future business prospects.
The meeting began at 9 am on Thursday at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Secretariat.
The delegation is being led by Oliver Simpson, Senior Vice President of the US-Bangladesh Business Council and Chief Commercial Officer of Accelerate Energy, and Atul Keshap, President of South Asia at the US Chamber of Commerce.
Former US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas, Nisha Desai and other diplomats and members of the Business Council were also present at the meeting.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and the United States, as well as exploring new opportunities for cooperation.
Earlier on Wednesday, a delegation of the US-Bangladesh Business Council paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The US-Bangladesh Business Council is an important business initiative of the US Chamber of Commerce aimed at promoting stronger commercial ties between the two countries.
