DHAKA, JUL 10 (V7N): President Mohammed Shahbuddin has strongly called for the systematic transformation of Bangladesh’s massive population into highly skilled human resources. He emphasized that building a prosperous and self-reliant nation heavily depends on meeting the practical expectations of the younger generation.

The statement was issued on the eve of World Population Day 2026, centering on the national and global theme: "Realizing the hopes and aspirations of young people—Today and for the future."

Highlighting the unique demographic layout of the country, President Shahbuddin pointed out that youth comprise nearly one-third of the total population of Bangladesh. He stressed that this demographic dividend must be harnessed through targeted structural reforms rather than remaining underutilized.

  • Employment-Focused Education: The government is actively implementing structural upgrades to modernize the traditional education framework, refocusing curricula to be strictly market-linked and productivity-driven.

  • Technical and Digital Literacy: High priority is being diverted toward expanding technical and vocational education and training (TVET), with an emphasis on embedding digital technology, artificial intelligence competency, and innovative leadership traits within the workforce.

  • Socio-Economic Safeguards: To protect the country's human capital, authorities are widening social safety nets while intensifying legal frameworks and community awareness operations against social issues like drug abuse, child marriage, and gender-based violence.

The Head of State stressed that institutionalizing high-quality, planned family systems and health services remains the foundational pillar for sustaining long-term socio-economic growth.

President Shahbuddin directed administrative bodies to ensure that critical healthcare structures—specifically maternal welfare, child immunization networks, and reproductive health systems—are made directly accessible to rural grassroots communities.

Calling for a unified national effort, the President urged parents, educational bodies, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to seamlessly align with state initiatives to successfully mentor and uplift the nation's youth.
