Dhaka, July 26 (V7N)- Acting President Hafiz Uddin Ahmed has begun his first official day in office with a busy schedule following his assumption of presidential responsibilities after the resignation of Md. Shahabuddin.
According to the schedule, Hafiz Uddin Ahmed will visit the National Memorial in Savar at 11:00 am on Sunday (July 26) and lay a wreath to pay tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War.
Later, at around 12:30 pm, he will pay homage at the graves of former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital.
After completing the formal programmes, the Acting President is expected to begin his regular official activities from Bangabhaban.
Meanwhile, former President Md. Shahabuddin is scheduled to leave Bangabhaban by noon on Sunday. Following his resignation from the presidency on health grounds, he will move to his private flat in Gulshan.
Sources said all necessary preparations, including security arrangements, have already been completed at his Gulshan residence ahead of his arrival.
