Tragedy struck during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays as road accidents claimed the lives of at least 34 individuals, including children, across the nation. One unfortunate incident occurred on the Dhaka-Tangail Highway in Gazipur's Kaliakair Upazila, where a couple lost their lives after being struck by a bus while returning from a wedding feast. The victims were identified as Asif Mahmud Hridoy, 26, and his wife Tanzim Bakshi, 21. In another incident, a rickshaw-puller lost his life in the sluice gate area of Gabtali Beribandh in the capital after being hit by a truck.

The casualty count rose following a collision between two motorcycles in Zakiganj Upazila of Sylhet, with the death toll reaching four. Two motorcycles collided and caught fire in Shahbagh Muhidpur area on the Sylhet-Zakiganj road, resulting in the deaths of two individuals on the spot and injuring two others.

Further tragedies unfolded in Bahubal Upazila of Habiganj and Rajshahi, where fatal accidents claimed the lives of two motorcyclists and five individuals, respectively. Additionally, Narsingdi witnessed six fatalities in separate accidents on Eid day, while two friends lost their lives in Tangail following a collision between a motorcycle and a private car.

Chuadanga mourned the loss of two lives after a motorcycle accident in Alamdanga Upazila, while Mymensingh faced the brunt of eight fatalities in various accidents, including three from the same family. Among the victims were Lutfar Rahman, 30, his wife Shahnaz, 25, and their son Mahit, 2, with their other son Mojahid, 6, sustaining injuries.

In Comilla, a heartbreaking incident occurred when a child carrying Iftar for his father was fatally struck by an auto-rickshaw in the Shaktala area. The collision threw the child onto the sidewalk, where construction material was piled, tragically ending his life.
