Dhaka, October 22, 2026 (V7N)– Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all Dhaka-Dammam flights scheduled for October 23, 24 and 25, and extended the suspension of Dhaka-Riyadh flights until October 31, citing passenger safety following an attack on King Fahd International Airport in Saudi Arabia's Dammam city.
The national flag carrier announced the decisions in a press release on Thursday, a day after the attack on the airport late Wednesday night.
"Considering the ongoing air attacks, Biman also decided to keep all Dhaka-Riyadh flights suspended until October 31 in the interest of passenger safety," the release said.
The airline said further decisions regarding the suspended flights and revised schedules will be announced in due course.
Meanwhile, Biman's flights from Dhaka to Jeddah and Madinah will continue to operate according to their existing schedules.
Passengers bound for Dammam and Riyadh with urgent travel needs may travel to Saudi Arabia and return to Bangladesh through Jeddah and Madinah international airports, subject to seat availability, according to the release.
Biman requested passengers to contact its nearest sales centre for ticketing and travel-related information.
The airline did not specify the nature or extent of the damage at the Saudi airport, and no details were immediately available on whether other carriers have adjusted their schedules. Biman is expected to issue updated flight schedules as the security situation develops.
