The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has announced a reduction in the price of gold for the seventh consecutive time. In a press release issued on Tuesday, Masudur Rahman, chairman of the BAJUS Price Determination and Price Monitoring Standing Committee, disclosed that the price of good quality gold will be decreased by Tk 420.

As per the latest announcement, the price of a 22-carat gold bar has been adjusted to Tk 111,041, down from the previous price of Tk 111,461. Similarly, the price of 21-carat solid gold now stands at Tk 106,002, while 18-carat gold will be sold for Tk 90,862, and traditional method gold will be available at Tk 75,560.

BAJUS attributed the price adjustment to the decrease in the price of acid gold in the local market and considered the overall market situation while determining the new prices. The revised prices came into effect from 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the price of silver remains unchanged, with 22-carat silver priced at Tk 2,100, 21-carat at Tk 2,060, 18-carat at Tk 1,715, and traditional silver at Tk 1,283, depending on the category.

This latest reduction follows a series of price cuts initiated by BAJUS starting from April 23, with reductions ranging from Tk 315 to Tk 3,138. Prior to these reductions, gold prices had seen three consecutive increases on April 6, 8, and 18, with hikes ranging from Tk 1,750 to Tk 2,065.
