He is the second engineer of the ship MV Abdullah, which was freed from the pirates.
 
Today Wednesday (May 15) around 11 am, he returned to his home in Chhotboyra Karimnagar area of ​​Khulna metropolis.  When he came home, his relatives welcomed him with flowers.  An emotional atmosphere is created.  After more than two months, the relatives got emotional when they found Taufiqul Islam.  Some cried with joy.
 
Engineer Taufiqul Islam's father Iqbal Hossain, mother Bill Afroz, wife Jobaida Noman and two children Tasfia Tahsina (7) and Ahmed Rusafi (5) were blessed to have him back.
 
Taufiqul Islam's daughter Tasfia Tahsina and son Ahmed Rusafi said in tearful voices that they will not let their father go anywhere else.
 
A Bangladeshi cargo ship and 23 sailors and crew were held hostage by Somali pirates in the Indian Ocean.
 
Earlier on Tuesday (May 14) around 4:15 pm, 23 sailors of the MV Abdullah, freed from pirates in Somalia, set foot on the country's soil.
 
It should be noted that on the way to Dubai with 55,000 tons of coal from Mozambique, Somali pirates took the MV Abdullah ship hostage with 23 sailors on March 12.  The ship was hijacked by armed pirates in the Indian Ocean, 600 nautical miles from the country's coast.  The ship was freed from the pirates in the early hours of April 14.
