Dhaka, July 31 — Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited Kurmitola General Hospital on Wednesday afternoon to see those injured in the recent nationwide violence linked to the quota reform agitation in government jobs.

During her visit, Sheikh Hasina met with the victims who were reportedly attacked by members of the BNP-Jamaat group amid the ongoing student-led movement. According to the state news agency Basas, the Prime Minister inquired about the condition of the injured and directed hospital authorities to ensure they receive proper treatment.

The Prime Minister became emotional upon witnessing the severity of the injuries and hearing about the brutal nature of the attacks. She was visibly moved and could not hold back tears.

The hospital's director, Brigadier General Saidur Rahman, briefed the Prime Minister on the treatment arrangements for the injured. Following her visit to Kurmitola General Hospital, Sheikh Hasina also checked on patients at the National Institute of Diseases of the Chest and Hospital in Mohakhali.

This visit follows a series of hospital visits made by the Prime Minister in recent days. On Tuesday afternoon, she visited Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital. She also previously visited Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Central Police Hospital, Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) to meet other victims of the violence.

The Prime Minister has consistently assured the injured of receiving proper medical care and wished them a speedy recovery.

In addition to her hospital visits, Sheikh Hasina inspected the damage caused by the violence at several key locations, including the vandalized metro rail station at Mirpur 10, the Bangladesh Television (BTV) building, the Setu building, the Disaster Management Department building, and the toll plaza of the elevated expressway at Mohakhali.
