Dhaka, August 3- Amidst the continuing nationwide protests over the quota reform movement, the anti-discrimination student movement has announced the formation of a new, expanded coordination team. The team, now consisting of 158 members, was revealed in a circular issued by the new coordinator, Rifat Rashid, on the organization’s official Telegram group, 'Vakismya Antiki Chhatra Andolan,' on Saturday morning.

The expanded team includes representatives from student groups across the country. Their key demands include a trial for those responsible for the recent violence, the resignation of officials linked to the violence, and the release of detained individuals.

Previously, on July 8, the movement had established a 65-member coordination team to oversee the initial phase of the quota reform program. Since then, violent incidents linked to the movement have emerged nationwide, with the government confirming at least 150 deaths. Various media sources, however, claim the death toll exceeds 200.
