Dhaka, August 6 - The US government has revoked the visa of former Bangladeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, who recently resigned amid widespread protests and unrest. Currently, Sheikh Hasina is in Delhi, India, after fleeing Bangladesh following her resignation on August 5. The cancellation of her visa was confirmed on Tuesday.

Reports from India-based media outlet News Eight indicate that Sheikh Hasina is seeking asylum in European countries. However, the United Kingdom has reportedly declined her request for asylum. She is currently stationed at Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad, near Delhi. It is speculated that her sister, Sheikh Rehana, who holds UK citizenship, may soon relocate to the UK.

Sheikh Hasina's departure marks a sudden end to her fourth consecutive term as Prime Minister, which began after winning the national elections in January. The resignation followed a series of student-led protests demanding quota reforms, which escalated into a large-scale anti-government movement. Sheikh Hasina's future destination remains uncertain as she awaits asylum approval from another country.
