Dhaka, August 8— Guest House Jamuna is being meticulously prepared to accommodate Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the newly appointed Chief Adviser of the interim government. Since Thursday morning, the Public Works Department (PWD) has been reorganizing the building, with furniture being rearranged and other arrangements being made to ready the premises.

According to sources from the Protocol Wing of the Ministry of External Affairs, Guest House Jamuna has been officially allotted for Dr. Yunus. After taking his oath at Bangabhaban tonight, he is expected to move into the residence.

Despite the ongoing preparations, security fencing has not yet been installed in front of Jamuna Bhavan. However, law enforcement agencies, including the army and Ansar, have already begun to secure the area, ensuring the safety of the Chief Adviser.

The nomination of Dr. Muhammad Yunus as the head of the interim government was proposed by the agitating students and subsequently agreed upon by President Md. Sahabuddin. His appointment marks a critical juncture in Bangladesh's political landscape.

It is noteworthy that Jamuna Bhavan has a legacy of hosting the chief advisers of previous caretaker governments. The last chief adviser to stay in the building was Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed, who led the military-controlled caretaker government following the political changes during the one-eleven period in 2008.
