PARBNA, MAY 19 (V7N) - A massive, jet-black bull named Baharam Badsha has become the center of attention in Chatmohar, Pabna, ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha cattle market. Raised by local farmer Monirul Islam in the village of Chhota Guakhra, the giant bull boasts a total weight of 40 maunds (approximately 1,600 kg), with an estimated meat yield of around 25 maunds (1,000 kg). Monirul, who previously went viral across Bangladesh in 2019 for raising a massive bull named "Tiger," has set the asking price for Baharam Badsha at Tk 25 lakh.
True to his name, which translates to "Emperor," Baharam Badsha exhibits a majestic and energetic temperament, often requiring multiple people just to manage him when he is out in the open. To achieve this impressive growth over the past year, Monirul utilized completely natural, local fattening methods, feeding the bull a steady diet of fresh raw grass, oil cake (kheil), bran, straw, and rice. Surprisingly, the bull has also developed a distinct taste for premium fruits; Monirul treats him to bananas and apples two to three times a week, alongside his standard feed.
