Dhaka, Aug 20 (V7N) – United States Treasury officials have expressed satisfaction over the progress made by Bangladesh Bank (BB) in addressing key macroeconomic and financial sector issues, according to a press release.
US Treasury Attaché Larita Bolden and Treasury Local Staff Disha Dubey expressed their satisfaction during a meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor Md Mostaqur Rahman today.
During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on Bangladesh Bank's progress on the overall macroeconomic situation, recent incentive packages, monetary policy, exchange rate policy and ongoing reforms in the banking sector.
Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governors Dr Md Habibur Rahman, Dr Md Kabir Ahmed and Md Sarwar Hossain were present at the meeting.
US Treasury representatives assured Bangladesh Bank of continued cooperation and support in advancing the ongoing reform initiatives.
The meeting underscored the importance of continued coordination and cooperation between Bangladesh Bank and the US Treasury on macroeconomic management and financial sector reforms.
The development comes as Bangladesh continues to implement wide-ranging financial sector reforms under the current government, with the central bank taking key steps to stabilize the banking sector and strengthen monetary policy frameworks.
