Dhaka, Dec 04 (V7N) – A minor earthquake was again felt in Dhaka early Thursday morning at 6:15 a.m. The tremor caused brief panic among residents in several parts of the capital.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the earthquake registered a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale. The tremor originated at a depth of 30 kilometers beneath the surface, approximately 33 kilometers north-northeast of Tongi and 3 kilometers north of Narsingdi.
Local residents reported feeling the shaking for a few seconds, but no immediate damage or casualties have been reported. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity and advise citizens to remain alert, avoid unstable structures, and follow standard earthquake safety measures.
This tremor is part of a series of minor earthquakes recorded in the Dhaka region in recent months, highlighting the area’s vulnerability due to its location in a seismically active zone.
