Dhaka, Dec 23 (V7N) — The body of an unidentified young woman, estimated to be around 20 years old, was discovered outside the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Monday evening. The deceased had a noticeable black mark on her chin. A man, claiming to be her husband, brought her to the hospital and fled after leaving her outside.
According to Mohammad Hasan, a private trolley operator at the hospital’s emergency department, the man arrived around 6:30 pm in a CNG-run auto-rickshaw with the young woman. He claimed to be her husband and placed her on the trolley in front of the emergency department, refusing to let hospital staff take her inside, stating that an acquaintance was coming and would take care of her.
The man waited outside for nearly two hours before leaving the woman unattended on the trolley and escaping around 8:15 pm. Hospital emergency doctors later examined her and confirmed her death.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed that the deceased was approximately 20 years old and had a black mark on her chin. The body has been sent to the hospital morgue, and police are investigating the case, including the identity of the man who brought her and the circumstances leading to her death.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the woman or the suspect to come forward to aid the ongoing investigation.
