Dhaka, Sept 7 (V7N): In the past 24 hours, dengue claimed three more lives in Bangladesh, bringing the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 95 this year.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 403 new patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue during the same period. Of these, 117 were hospitalized under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 135 were admitted under Dhaka South City Corporation.

Currently, 1,509 dengue patients are receiving treatment across various hospitals nationwide. Since January 1, 2024, a total of 15,207 dengue cases have been reported.

Last year, dengue caused 1,705 fatalities, marking it as the deadliest year in the country’s history. The DGHS recorded 321,179 cases and 318,749 recoveries in 2023.
