Netrokona, Feb 17, (V7N) – On Sunday (February 16), a mobile court was conducted by the Department of Environment, Netrokona district office, from 10 AM to 5 PM in Kalmakanda Upazila, targeting various illegal brick kilns.
 
According to a press release signed by Md. Abdullah Al Matin, Assistant Director of the Department of Environment in Netrokona, the mobile court was led by Md. Rezwan-ul-Islam, Executive Magistrate of the Department of Environment, and Md. Jobbar Hossain, Inspector at the Netrokona district office, provided the prosecution.
 
The mobile court was attended by Md. Abdullah Al Matin, the Assistant Director of the Department of Environment, Netrokona, and staff members from the district office. Support was provided by Army personnel, Netrokona Fire Service, Civil Defense, and the Netrokona Police Lines, as well as officers from the Kalmakanda Police Station.
 
During the operation, action was taken against 5 brick kilns, resulting in a total fine of Tk 7 lakh, 50 thousand,  (Seven lakh fifty thousand) and the demolition of one kiln. The court also declared the cessation of all operations at the illegal kilns.
 
The press release emphasized that such operations to combat environmental pollution caused by illegal brick kilns will continue.
